The Boom Supersonic airliner is being designed as a super fast, but affordable, solution for the near future. The plane will travel at Mach 2.2, enabling it to slash the 15 hour Sydney to LA flight to around 6 hours.
Right now in Paris, Boom is exhibiting at the annual International Paris Air Show. They are creating some serious ground swell as they unveil their XB-1 (dubbed ‘Baby Boom’) demonstrator aircraft (a one third scale technology demonstrator of the full scale aircraft), scheduled to take off from Centennial Airport, Denver in as early as 2018.
